A quick note - Time Management

time managementI am trying to organize myself but when you are working full time, doing part time study, following a mentoring program and your usual household duties then it can be challenging at times, and it is something I am not juggling well at the moment. Time management is essential for me now or I wont get anything done that I plan to do.

I am working from a diary to get things done on my internet marketing training and that is coming on slowly.  I have a long list that I make up for a 3 day period and I tick it off as I go.  Its quite satisfying to see how many things are ticked at the end of the day. I will be finishing the part time study probably in about a week’s time so that will help me greatly as I will have more time to do what I want to do and that is get on implementing the training I have been learning from Alex my mentor.

I am currently working on social media strategies and have a list of ones that I am posting to and in Technorati’s case I am claiming this blog.  Here’s the code: X7VSBP3X6XV2

I only have completed one Squidoo lens but I will do more of them as well starting with another on the weekend.  I am also committed to doing a short video for my ‘about’ page this weekend if the weather stays fine.  Its very cold and windy here at the moment south of Sydney.  Please keep me to that video and ask me in the comments section about how I am going with it  :)   I am also working on a video using GFX Video Writer which is a bit different to what I am used to and has slides and voice over.

What are your plans to implement your marketing strategies over the next week and what time management systems have you put into place to help you make it happen?

  • Hi Pauline,
    I hear you ,with everything on your hands it cannot be easy.For a while i got behind in my tasks to be done but this week i have done some re-planning.I am planning on doing the following;
    Twitter twice a day.
    2 Squidoo lenses per week.
    1 Blog Post per week.
    5 Forum posts per day.
    2 Article submissions per week.
Some Back linking (yet to learn how its done).
I also found the JV session very interesting and will spend time exploring that this weekend. I am still in the process of learning and tweaking my blog and i therefore set goals which were stretchable yet attainable as i also work full time and often long hours.
    Cheers for now.

Thanks Catherine for your comments. Unfortunately I can only spend 1 hour on the webinars so I have to wait to listen to them. It’s a lot of work isn’t it but the rewards are great. Good luck to us both.

  • Hello Pauline,

Been a long time since I’ve been here and the problem was exactly what the subject of this post is about. Time management!

It’s great the way you’re making us accountable for what we do by putting it in our comments, so here goes…

(…Big Plans for this week, complete change of focus…)

    Get two products created
Two blog posts written (…just did these…)
Leave valuable comments on at least 10 blogs a day

As for time management systems, I’ll just stick to my plan and just keep trying to plan tomorrow today and then sticking to it.

Thanks so much for the accountability opportunity.

    Reach new heights,

    Nathan

Nathan I find planning today for today the best plan for me as I get more done than planning a day ahead. Those plans of yours are similar to mine so let see how we did at the end of next week.

  • Hey Pauline,

I completely understand how you feel, I have a million and one things to do and so little time to get it all done!

I think I need to go back and redo my daily to do sheets so that I can get some organisation into everything I do.

Also probably going to start up my daily did sheets, to see exactly what is sucking up my time and what I can ditch to become more productive, Sally :)

Yes Sally I am not writing them up each day at the beginning as my priorities are changing so much so quickly.

  • Time management is the key to success! I always have to remind myself “focus on things that matter and spend the right time on it.. journey of thousand miles starts with a single step.
