If you want something to go smoothly then often it will go the opposite way, and that describes the last week to a tee. I have had my computer crash completely, domains not properly registered, internet cutting out and to top it off I had gone over my limit on the internet as well. It was difficult to do any internet marketing while you haven’t got the tools. It must have been all the videos I have been watching lately.
Is the universe telling me something? Times like this you have to remember what your goals are. I was reminded of this by a friend and it kept me going.
I am happy to say I have overcome most of those problems now, just some teething problems with my new upgraded computer. I now have Windows 7, which is a challenge in itself, and a new motherboard. My computer is running much faster though now so this has been a big bonus I didn’t know was coming. I think I have learned a few things along this journey and this will help me to keep persevering with my internet marketing goals for this year.
Don’t give up if you come up against a brick wall, just go find a sledgehammer and break through.
What kind of obstacles have you come across with your dreams and plans? Have you let them defeat you, or have you fought and won?

Hey Pauline,
Great post about not letting obstacles get in your way.
No matter how successful we get, there will always be obstacles at all levels that we’ll have to deal with.
I like Windows 7 but have been thinking about moving to Mac soon. (Judas lol)
Macs are supposed to be really good for videos and I want to do more of those as they’ll save me so much time with the blog because I just love to ramble on (as you can see by this comment)
Reach new heights Pauline,
Nathan
I am sure whatever you do Nathan you will succeed you have the will to do it and so do I
I don’t think I want to change to a Mac though so I will let you lead the way.
Hi Pauline
My main obstacles, until I started as Alex student, has been:
Procrastination
Lack of Action
Lack of Patience
Jumping from Here to There
Poor self confidence
just to name a few… :p
That’s probably why I never made a dime online. But with Alex and the Coaching Program everything is changing. For the best
Cheers
Jorge
Hey pauline
Great to see your sorted out now had a few problems myself along the way keep up the good work
Thanks
Davy
Hi Pauline
Pleased to meet you.
Wow, you have Windows 7! I didn’t see it and tried it yet.
But I have a Mac from last december and..let me tell is simply GREAT!
Photo, Video, Writing, Applications…with a Mac it’s all much more easy, quick, beautiful, enjoyable, efficient and…without any unpleasant crash!
I’m so happy to have moved my comfort zone from Window to Mac. Yes, I admit that during the first month..all seemed impossible, but after attempts on attempts, now I’m able to do everything much more better, with more passion and amazing results.
Pauline, I’m very happy to see your new Internet project, and I want to push you to discover how Mac is powerful!
I hope soon to heard good news from you about your new purchased.
My hand on my heart,
Alberto
Thank you Alberto – I will probably stick with a PC for awhile but I see as Mac gets better and better I will eventually move that way especially as the graphics programs are better in Mac for professional users.
You know what Jorge I could tick all those points off too. Thanks for your reply.
Pauline:
I love the post! It is awesome to read how positive you are during your times of adversity. I really like what you said “Don’t give up if you come up against a brick wall, just go find a sledgehammer and break through.” — Keep that sledgehammer close by.
My biggest obstacle is time. My son is involved in baseball and will be practicing or playing this summer on 6 out of 7 days a week. I am working on the business at night but right now I could fall asleep….zzzzzzzz!
Good luck to you!
- Rick
Rick we picked a good time to start a new project we really want to see be successful didn’t we? You know though there is never a good time to do most things and by being a bit challenging it will probably make us better ourselves. Thanks for your encouragement.
Hey Pauline, I got a new laptop and I just cant get used to Windows 7, I am sorry to say that I still use my rickety old pc and the shiny new laptop is over in the corner in it’s bag. I shall face this fear and start using it now you have wrote this post, thanks Sally
I had Win 7 on my Netbook but only for a short time, but you should start using it because I have found it so much easier to download files especially zipped files. For instance it saves the zipped file to a local drive on your computer then you can unzip it to the drive you want and even make a new folder as a part of that process. That is much better than XP for zipped files. You dont need to have an unzip program as it does it all.
Sally it is a learning curve but hey we are doing that now anyway so what is another one thing?
Hi Pauline!
Well done with your post about overcoming obstacles. I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t have any obstacles, but not everyone can muster up such a positive attitude to overcome them.
But, speaking of PC problems, just after I arrived in Sydney in February I asked my cousin and his wife if they would mind if I used my international converter so I could access my emails. Reluctantly, they agreed. Well, all of a sudden no one in the house – and there are four laptops – could get access to the internet, so I was banned from using my laptop while I was there for the next three weeks, because, obviously, I must have caused the problem with my converter that didn’t convert properly. Eventually it transpired that Australia’s telephone sevice, Telstra, had a brown-out breakdown that lasted several days and nobody could get on the internet until they finally fixed the problem that had been caused, they explained, by the ever-expanding and exploding PC internet population in Australia. Unfortunately for me, it did not have the ban lifted on using my laptop during the remainder of my stay. They then decided I must be a jinx!
Best wishes,
