Writing articles and submitting them to article directories can be a very powerful way to attract readers to your blog or website for listbuilding. It also shows your knowledge and in some cases your expertise about your business. It can also provide backlinks to your site which will generate people visiting to see more information from you.
The results can be fast as article directories accept your articles and traffic starts to flow. A percentage of these readers will want to add themselves to your list if they like the information you provide so this is a very good listbuilding strategy.
By adding your link to the resource box of your site you can offer the reader more information about yourself, your products or services, and at the same time offer them a chance to join your mailing list. Others who read your articles may also want to put your articles on their own blogs and this will mean ultimately that you will have more traffic coming to your site and a chance at more readers signing up to be a follower.
Listbuilding with articles is also a free way of building your business as traffic increases. You can also use paid article submission services to help you get to more directories but that is a choice and not a necessity. It will reach more people though who may not have had a chance of reading your articles otherwise and adding to your link popularity. Remember to keep your articles relevant to your site and you will build up a list of followers who will remain readers.

Hi Pauline,
Great post article marketing is very powerful. The more articles you have out there the more backlinks you have to your site and the more link juice from google. They do so many jobs as they give you direct traffic plus the backlinks plus the chance for people to post on there blogs aswell.
Super stuff Pauline
Glyn
Thanks Glyn for your encouragement and now I am off to write another article
Pauline, how are you doing?
Article are sooo powerful. Thanks for this post.
Just by writing you’re article in a certain way you can get on the first page of google for really competitive keywords, about 20 mins after they’ve been accepted.
Using them as a list builder is a great free way to build that list of people.
Thanks for the post Pauline. (..You’re working real hard here…)
Reach new heights,
Nathan
Hi Pauline,
What a really good job you did with this post. Very thorough and easy to read. Actually I like your writing style as its clear and simple…sometimes I tend to waffle and you do not have that problem.
I think that of all our traffic coaching that articles are THE most powerful and FREE way to get back-links and traffic for a long, long time. You have given me some inspiration and I will also create a post for articles and give your post a plug at the same time.
Like your site…can you email me and tell me how you created your home page as distinct from your posts? If you have time I would really appreciate that.
Best wishes
Actually I haven’t got a home page distinct from the posts Peter. Maybe its the theme I am using. Its a theme for people who dont want to use code
It has options pages instead where you can change most things on your blog. I love it and have used it a few times. Go to the bottom of the page for the name.
OK I understand. Thanks. Really great blog design – Simplicity is the basis of real sophistication. But I could not find your RSS feed icon so I can keep up to date with all your creations.
Hmm I dont think I have noticed that its not there Peter….I will investigate.
Hey Pauline,
I am looking into doing more article marketing myself. Thanks for the great information. The one thing I like about articles is that that have a lasting effect when written well and targeted for good keywords. Keep up the good work Pauline.
Cheers,
PJ
Yes I have to agree PJ written articles are longer lasting in my opinion too. I always use good keywords umm except for some of my posts
Hi Pauline,
Yes article marketing should work very well. I’m planning to use it myself, within the next 2 month.
Are you linking your articles to your blog or to your squeeze page?
Regards
Henning
I am putting two links in the resource box – one to my blog and the other to the squeeze page. Thanks Henning for your comment and I hope the article marketing goes well for me.
Hi Pauline,
Check this post out!
Reference to Pauline
I promised you I would do this for you – hope it’s OK with you
Best wishes
Thanks Peter and I have the site working again ok…I had a database problem in cPanel – hey the stuff you have to learn. I will go look at it now.
Hey Pauline,
Great post on articles. Article marketing works really really well if it’s done consistently. The awesome thing is if people like your article, they will take it and re-post it all over the internet which can bring you even more traffic.
Bryan
I really like this post on using article marketing to build a list. But i really wanted to comment on your writing style and how its short and sweet yet it tells you everything you want to know about the subject. I really respect that actually id like to learn how to do that. its something to look into =]
Don’t forget a good call to action in the signature of the articles you write that way you have a better chance of people clicking the link to your blog
K Pauline talk soon,
Ashawndra
Ashawndra Michelle´s last post ..Forum Commenting Brings To You Targeted Traffic!
Ashawndra thats a good point about the resource box. I wish I could write a real good call to action
Some optional items you could include in your RESOURCE BOX are:
1. Your Ezine Subscription Address: While getting your interested visitor to surf your website is nice, capturing their email address can help you begin the confidence/trust process. If you’re going to do this strategy, include a URL for your ezine subscription address and do not use an email address for the “join” address.
2. Your Contact Information: Such as your business phone number or how to reach you for interviews or your press/media kit. Keep in mind that article marketing is a timeless strategy and you may not have an easy ability to retract what you put in your article once it hits major distribution.
